🏫 Is this a registered school?

No — Inclusive Education is a tuition and support centre, not a registered school.

Learners must be enrolled with an approved curriculum provider and meet all legal requirements. We support learners by providing guidance, facilitation, and academic assistance alongside their registered programme.

📜 Do I need to register my child with the Department of Education?

Yes.

Learners from Grade R to Grade 9 must be registered for home education with the Department of Basic Education (DBE), as required by law.

We can provide guidance and support, but registration must be completed by the parent/guardian.

❗ Can the centre register my child on my behalf?

No.

We can provide:

  • Documentation
  • Step-by-step guidance
  • Video assistance

However, we are not permitted to register learners on behalf of parents.

👨‍👩‍👧 What is the parent’s responsibility in home education?

Parents remain the primary educators.

This means parents must:

  • Stay actively involved
  • Monitor academic progress
  • Ensure all requirements are met

A tutor or centre cannot replace the parent’s role in a home education setup.

📌 What is the role of the centre?

Our role is to:

  • Provide academic support and facilitation
  • Assist with understanding work
  • Help with assessments, exams, and PATs
  • Create a structured and supportive learning environment

We provide guidance and support, but not full responsibility for a learner’s education.

📚 What curriculum do you follow?

We primarily support learners using the Impaq/Optimi curriculum, but we can assist learners from other systems depending on their needs.

🎓 What happens in Grade 10–12?

Learners must be registered with an accredited examination body, such as SACAI, to obtain a recognised qualification.

💰 How do fees work?

There are separate fees involved, and it is important that parents understand this clearly:

🏫 1. Centre Fees (Inclusive Education)

Paid directly to the centre and include:

  • Facilitation (tuition) fees
  • Levy
  • Assessment fees

These cover the academic support, structure, and daily learning environment.

📚 2. Curriculum Provider Fees (Impaq/Optimi)

Paid directly to Impaq and include:

  • Registration
  • Learning materials
  • Online platform access

These are completely separate from centre fees.

🎓 3. External Exam Fees (Grade 10–12)

Paid to an examination body such as SACAI, including:

  • Registration
  • Moderation
  • Final examinations
⚠️ Are these fees combined?

No.

  • All fees are separate
  • Each provider has its own account and agreement
  • Payment to one does not include the others
🧾 What am I responsible for as a parent?

Parents are responsible for ensuring that all required fees are paid, including centre fees (facilitation, levy, and assessments), Impaq fees (curriculum provider), and SACAI fees for Grade 10–12 learners.

📌 Important note regarding Impaq
  • Impaq is a curriculum provider
  • It does not regulate tutors or centres
  • The agreement between parent and centre is separate from Impaq
  • Impaq is not responsible for the education provided by tutors
